From Compliance Accountant to Life-Centred Accountant

I did what most accountants are trained to do: prepare accounts, submit returns, keep things accurate and tidy. But something never quite sat right with me.

Because the businesses I worked with didn’t fail due to bad compliance. They struggled because they couldn’t see what was really going on.

​

The numbers were there… but the potential was hidden.

​

That realisation changed everything.

​

I stopped asking, “Have we filed this correctly?” And started asking, “What could this business become if the numbers were working harder?”

​

That journey led me away from traditional compliance and into Growth Accounting, with one clear focus at the heart of everything I do today.

​

My heart has always been that of an entrepreneur.

​

I’ve built businesses myself, made costly mistakes, experienced cashflow pressure first-hand and had to learn how to make decisions when the numbers felt overwhelming. That personal journey is what drew me into environments focused on real business growth, including the Entrepreneurs Circle, where I completed practical workshops and took part in the Masterplan programme.

​

Through that experience, I deepened my understanding of what truly drives business growth.

​

The nine-step Masterplan framework brought structure to areas many business owners feel overwhelmed by: clarity of direction, understanding the numbers, building the right team, creating consistent acquisition, improving delivery and designing a business that supports the life you want.

​

It taught me how to step back from the noise and look at a business as a connected system, not isolated problems. That way of thinking now underpins how I support my clients.

​

In a world filled with automation, dashboards and constant AI noise, I believe something deeply human is being lost.

​

Behind every set of numbers is a person carrying responsibility, pressure and hope for their business. That’s why I place such value on deep, personal, one-on-one connections.

​

I don’t believe growth comes from generic advice or automated insights alone. It comes from being heard, understood and supported through real conversations that turn uncertainty into clear action.

What I now help business owners do is exactly what I had to learn for myself: seeing the potential already sitting inside the numbers.

​

Through training as a Profit Improvement Coach, becoming a Life Centred Accountant, qualifying as a Business Advisor, and working deeply within the Improving the Numbers framework, I learned how to turn financial data into something practical, human and powerful.

​

Today, I offer a unique blend of financial insight and business coaching support for open-minded, growth-ambitious business owners who want more than just advice.
